Some people think that social networking sites have a huge negative impact on both individuals and society.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Certain important reasons to agree with the claim are:

-Social media takes away precious time from the lives of people everyday which they could otherwise use for beneficial purposes 

-Reduces attention span because people get used to the quick gratification offered by social media and tend to use it while doing important works

-Reduces social activities and creates armchair activists. Instead of actively involving in social activities, people just express their views on social media and feel satisfied 

-Creates weak ties. Social media results in the creation of many superficial relationships, giving no emotional satisfaction 

- Creates a feeling of missing out. People tend to share the best moments of their lives on social media, making others feel that their own lives are not as enjoyable
